CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support

This qualification is the minimum qualification for people who are working* or want to work as an Aged Care Worker in residential aged care facilities, home-based support and community settings.

In this course, you will learn how to provide individualised support to a diverse range of clients, and learn how to recognise healthy body systems, follow safe work practices for direct client care and support the independence and wellbeing of people who are ageing.

As part of the course, you will be required to participate in 120-hours of work placement and gain practical, hands-on experience in communicating and working in a health or Community Services environment.

On successful completion of this qualification, you will have the skills you need to undertake a number of entry-level roles in the Aged Care Services industry, or you might like to enrol in the additional four units required to complete a Skill Set in Individual Support (Disability). You might also be interested in undertaking further training at TasTAFE and go on to study CHC42015 – Certificate IV in Community Services or HLT54115 – Diploma of Nursing.
